Iām curious what grunge fans think about this particular Grunge inspired album by Depeche Mode as they transitioned from Synthpop towards a sound I would consider Electronic Rock. I thought it was a fantastic album, my favorite of theirs, despite being so jarringly different from their previous(and still more popular) synthpop albums like āViolatorā. While the band openly admits bands of the time like Soundgarden, Janes Addiction & Alice In Chains were a big inspiration to the sound it doesnāt feel like a āCash Grabā kind of album(with the unparalleled success of their previous album āViolatorā this was actually probably a very risky move)
Iāve always been curious what other people outside of the Depeche Mode fanbase think of this album.
