Depeche Mode - Songs of Faith & Devotion(1993)
Post Body

Iā€™m curious what grunge fans think about this particular Grunge inspired album by Depeche Mode as they transitioned from Synthpop towards a sound I would consider Electronic Rock. I thought it was a fantastic album, my favorite of theirs, despite being so jarringly different from their previous(and still more popular) synthpop albums like ā€˜Violatorā€™. While the band openly admits bands of the time like Soundgarden, Janes Addiction & Alice In Chains were a big inspiration to the sound it doesnā€™t feel like a ā€œCash Grabā€ kind of album(with the unparalleled success of their previous album ā€˜Violatorā€™ this was actually probably a very risky move)

Iā€™ve always been curious what other people outside of the Depeche Mode fanbase think of this album.
