So I've seen this on and off where an order won't list as picked up until it's almost at my house.
Normally I figure they're probably just gaming the system but tonight not only was my food late, and ice cold, but I'd seen the driver go all over the far side of town, and to the restaurant twice, order was listed as at the restaurant.
I thought something was fishy so I called the restaurant, order was picked up 15 min after I put it in, about when I saw them at the restaurant the first time.
I talked to grubhub support and they told me that they're busy and that it hasn't been picked up from the restaurant yet.
Finally after nearly an hour I get it, food is ice cold confirming that the restaurant was telling the truth.
I got a refund but it's still frustrating getting cold food from what amounts to a dishonest delivery driver and an uncaring company.
Anyone else have any advice regarding this? Or does grubhub not have any kind of hr training for the drivers regarding stuff like this to prevent it in the future?
