Group Policy; Created user folders; Mapped user folders
Post Body

So I've been having an odd and consistent problem in a group policy environment. In effort to automate the onboarding of a new user, I've created the following Group policies.

First, creating a username folder using \genericservername\usershares\%username% Under "User Configuration\Preferences\Windows Settings\Folders

On initial login, this successfully creates the desired folder, on the first login, consistently.

Additionally, under "User Configuration\Preferences\Windows Settings\Drive Maps" It is then requested to map the created folder to the first available drive letter, starting with S:\ This works, but only on the THIRD login, consistently.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or just expecting too much out of Group Policy. Any insight or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, I'm more curious as to WHY it takes three log-ins to actually map the folder.
