Sound plays out of phone instead of Bluetooth when using Videochat

When I use Video Chat the sounds comes out of my phone and not my connected Bluetooth earbuds. I know this affects another person too. Is there a hidden setting somewhere. The app has permission for sound and video, and I hear sound on recorded videos through the Bluetooth. Ant suggestions?
