Profile updates takes hours

Is anyone else experiencing that making a change in your profile name or text takes hours to take effect, since the last update? (I only noticed this because I have a second account).
Given that many of us use the profile name space to write "looking" or "not looking", and that Grindr announced they will introduce a (paid) functionality to say we are "looking", I wonder if this is just one more bug, or if it's done on purpose.
