Best thing I’ve done is get a cheap temp gun

I suck at being able to guess the actual temperature of my pan, so I got a temperature gun from Harbor Freight. I don’t burn my GC anymore!

It works for me! It immediately cools a bit when the sandwich is thrown in and it toasts up nicely and will melt a couple slices of cheese easy

It’s a Lodge, and I bought it at Target a couple years ago. It’s great having a dedicated pan for grilled cheeses and fried PBJs

I actually bought it to check the coolant temp thru the upper radiator hose on my Suzuki, but I ended up only using it in the kitchen lol

I throw it on at like 300f. Usually more like 290 though as I can never wait
