No idea how it works, but I've witnessed a few times now - there is some sort of exploit where people can reset their car about 5 seconds ahead of their current position.

It's most noticeable when they are in 1st and I'm chasing them down. I catch up and overtake, then suddenly they disappear and are 5 seconds ahead of me in 1st again. I chase them down again, same thing happens. However it seems like they are only able to do it three times. After the third time being overtaken by me, they usually give up and leave the session, which makes me suspect it's linked to flashbacks (you only get three flashbacks, so once they're used up they can no longer cheat).

Anyone else seen this or have more info?
