Review of Manchester concert (spoiler alert - loved it!)
Post Body

Hi!

With all the talk of the solos, I thought I'd give my opinion of their concert in Manchester last night. This is coming from a virtual non-musician FYI (I dabble with the drums but that's it!).

Firstly, I knew about their solos. I thought they were OK really. I positively enjoyed the drum one and it was nice to see the attention on the rest of the band. If I was a guitarist or drummer in a band I would want a bit of the limelight lol, and a band is bigger than just the singer after all. And if it wasn't your thing, they are a great time for a toilet break or to get a drink :) My 10 year old son had no issue with the solos, he enjoyed them, so I'm sure adults can cope!! Sure it might have been nice to hear a couple more songs but with Josh's announcement that he has acute bronchitis, maybe let's be glad that he was able to have some breaks.

As for the rest, well it was amazing! It started 10 minutes late so sadly there was no Farewell for Now which was a shame. But Light My Love was nothing short of an incredible encore!
Heat Above, Highway Tune, The Falling Sky, and Black Smoke Rising were other highlights. The atmosphere and energy was incredible throughout, as was Josh's voice. And all the fire and bangs and flashes were super fun!!

I know some people are concerned they won't enjoy the show because of the solos. IMO, give them a try and if you aren't a fan, just take the opportunity to have a break. They don't detract from the concert at all. The show was incredible and well worth every penny!
