Of course it is a very old concept with looooong time local owners who have not had the money or energy to consistently change with the time. But even so it was probably still worth their time. There are a lot of small business’s that mean a lot to a few people and they make enough stay open. Throw a 15% 25% 30% cost increase to the bottom line and all those places that might suck to some but create a unique and special character for a few and piled together create a unique character for a city will all be gone.

This is not exaggeration when I say 60% to 70% of restaurant or entertainment venues that serve alcohol will be gone by the start of 2026 if something huge does not change fast.

The ones that are still open will only do so because their drink prices will make Manhattan blush.
