I’ve been so excited to finally get to see Green Day in concert (and from the pit) tomorrow night after being a fan for two decades. Now I’m not able to make it because my flight from New Orleans (and possibly my house) is messed up with a surprise hurricane hitting tomorrow. Now instead of a lifelong dream concert I get to enjoy my new house enduring its first named storm.

Takes me back to evacuating for Hurricane Rita in 2005, their single at the time “Wake Me Up When September Ends” must’ve played on the radio a half dozen times on the drive back to whatever was left of our house. I love the song but it’s hard to listen to without those memories. September is truly the worst.

Anyways it’s not a total loss yet, I have a separate trip planned this weekend to see some Astros games, and it’ll actually have me in Anaheim a couple hours before the SoFi show starts. Just hoping logistics will work out there. not looking for a handout, just wanted to vent to some people who might care.

Austin and Dallas, y’all truly enjoy these next couple shows for me. Hopefully I’ll get to make up for it on Saturday.
