Most of my life out in the country with outside dogs and so have never really paid attention to how dogs interact until recently as we have an inside city Pyrenees who is a house mate to a 14 year old miniature pinscher who is fixed. The boy Pyrenees is not fixed, yet.
Out of nowhere the Pyrenees has began to really focus on the min pin's lady area in terms of licking and sniffing and being kind of aggressive but not in a mean way.
He listens to commands to stop somewhat consistently but if we leave the room and their together, well, her barks get us back into the room fast.
Not sure of his intentions even though it definitely seems like he's interested in her sexually.
That or he wants to eat her.
How is this possible? My thought is thst maybe she's still producing sex hormones the same way lady humans do even after being fixed.
Worried about her safety thiugh. So far, he's used his front paw to "swipe" or "step" on her backside. My wife has reported that she has seen him bite the back of her neck.
Btw, the min pin has severe stenosis of the lumbar area and js on meds that are effective and she gets around fairly okay, but worried she won't be able to defend herself sufficiently and might get hurt.
Any ideas? Any one else experience such behavior? Nothing on Google brings answers.
