I had this game on Vita when I was like 14. It vaguely remember enjoying it, however felt that the plot got quite limo as the game went on. Also didn't enjoy the combat/bosses as they ramped up. Well I got 2, and realised how little I remember of 1's story and decided to go back. And holy COW am I glad I did.
The art direction speaks for itself, but I never realised how kinetic the flight and combat could feel until I tried going for gold on the side missions. It forces you to push yourself, make use of all the various forms of movement and to be quick on your toes. Quick dodges, zip-xapping around the stage, properly falling around buildings like the Gravity Queen herself. It really sells you on the Spider-Man-esque escapism. It's ehy I want to be an animator.
Also, the live-action trailer is brilliant. Totally sells you on the appeal of gravity rush, one of the best PlayStation commercials in my opinion, there's a genuine emotional narrative there.
