So My mom has had thyroid problems since she was about 18 and now at 54 I see its affecting her a lot she has graves disease now and the doctor finally told her that she should have her thyroid removed. I am not sure if this is the right choice or not. She takes a lower dose of her thyroid medicine, but the doctor said the medicine is causing some side effects with her bones etc and she will feel better after the surgery. If The surgery fixed her problems we would all be happy, but if it didn't and made it worse? Also she she has problems with her eyes. Any advice from graves sufferers that have had their thyroid removed.
