Diagnosed Hyperthyroidism after ER visit

I'm 23(f) I went to the hospital due to my heart beating fast and dizziness. When I got there my heart rate was 160.
They said i had hyperthyroidism. I was told to check on it Sunday and given pills for it. Has anyone had numbers like these ? I'm unsure if this could be graves disease or not. (My dad and sister both had it) I don't know too much about it
