Hi everyone,
I want to buy my first road/gravel bike, and am wondering if I get a road bike and swap some bigger tires onto it would that work for basic gravel biking? or is that a bad idea?
How do i know if the road bike has clearance for bigger tires? I can't seem to see that on any bike specification i'm looking at, is there a section or term used to tell you? Do you know becuase of the rims it has?
I would spend $1.2k aussie at most, and would prefer a bike made for gravel, but at that price I only really see one option, which is this. So would be open to a road bike and putting some bigger tires on it.
I would be open to second hand, but again there aren't alot listed that say they are gravel bikes, so i would be looking at road bikes with thin tires, and trying to figure out what size tire i can put on it, which i can't seem to be able to do.
Any tips would be really appreciated!!
