Howdy friends! I just caught wind of the new forthcoming Micky Hart ESPN documentary that explores the intersection of musical rhythm and athletic rhythm. I have a friend who is not super into the Dead but really loves this idea, and i want to show them some good examples of how the band's live jamming can often feel like they're passing the musical ball back and forth.
It's a bit more specific and weird of an ask than "best Jerry guitar tone," or "best Phil bombs," but I'm wondering if any of you scholars have any tracks in mind where you can really hear that musical turn-taking?
And beyond those recommendations, would love to hear about some of the other conceptual intersections you feel/hear between music and sports. Both use the word "playing" for example, is the other thing I've been thinking about... So, what else??
Thank y'all, have fun out there!
