Howdy folks, I'm on the the hunt for something that may not exist. Personally I'm unsure if it's real, but in my few years on the bus, I've occasionally heard tell and seen mention of "That time that Bobby and Jer switched verses on Jack Straw"
However, I've never been able to find a date on this fabled performance, and I'm starting to seriously doubt it's existence. I'm fully aware that, way in the early days when it was still referred to as "We Can Share" by fans, Jack Straw was sung entirely by Bobby. Maybe thats what lead to this myth?
I'm not sure, but I'd really appreciate a little help on this snipe hunt of mine.
A fun little moment from the archive for y'all as well. While my search for the mythical Jack Straw, found one of the oft-mentioned "No More St. Stephen's" from Jer, 3/21/1973
At the end of Row Jimmy, some audience members are shouting for St. Stephen Jer, in a weird southern accent: For all you St. Stephen fans out there... WE DONT DO THAT ONE NO MORE
Pause Bobby: A bitter truth. We had to stop doing it cause everyone liked it too much
Hilarious shit, take a listen. Happy snipe hunting!
