I'm finally upgrading my workstation/gaming rig to a top of the line card. As of now I have GTX 770 for gaming and for my 3D animation and modeling and am looking to upgrade greatly.
I have heard that the Titan X is fantastic for this as well as gaming (i've heard that the 12gb vram is what really makes it fast). However they also just released the 1080 with 8 gb vram which is apparently twice as strong as a Titan.
My question is whether or not I should get a 1080 or a Titan X for my rig that will not only be for gaming but also for 3d animation and such. I like using particles and all that good stuff so maybe that'll help out? Thanks!
