Hey there fellow designers! I just wanted to make a post to maybe get some advice or insight… how many of you guys have went to school and finished your degree for graphic design? If so was it worth it?
I graduated high school in 2016 and started college directly after… however due to situations out of my control I had to take a hiatus… fast forward to now I have been in school for nearly a year and still have 2 years left. I feel a little discouraged to finish for several reasons, one mostly being that I seem to be learning about everything but graphic design, but also because I have landed me a graphic design position where I have been working for nearly a year now. Fortunately for me I was able to network my way into a graphic design position for a company that I’m genuinely excited about but doing so with school has been both emotionally and physically draining.. also while being in this position I have worked with a few other designers with zero schooling which leads me to believe I may be waisting my time and could use free resources to learn more about the Adobe programs.
Sorry for the long read but if you have made it this far I would love to hear your thoughts and or support. Thanks!
