I have an AI file that has colors very muted for "Print" compared to the digital version

Post Body

I had worked with a designer on a sign. They sent me over a PDF of the "print" version and of a "digital" version. The digital version has much brighter colors more along what I actually want for the sign.

I figure there's some reason for the print one to be how it is since print colors are limited.

But I have the AI file and when I open it it looks like the print. I'd like to be able to make some changes and update the digital version too. Is that possible to do with the AI file I have? (Like adjust color settings or export settings?) Or was that likely a separate AI file that I wasn't sent?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Edit: Probably has something to do with pantone colors used.
