So I graduated in May with a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design and am still looking for my first full time gig. I was a doorman over the summer and just quit that job to try working in a small family run screenprinting shop and only lasted 4 days before I quit. The job was so stressful having the conveyor belt stack up with shirts and then getting yelled at because i’m not as fast as people who have been working there for a year.
Now i’m unemployed but still living with parents searching around for something full time so I can make enough to move out. I have been making T shirts, album art, and selling prints of my artwork at festivals and local art gatherings which gives me enough to cover basic living expenses but still having a hard time finding the right full time gig.
My question for you fellow designers is what kind of jobs right out of college could I be looking for to make the most of my degree?
I don’t think a production line job is a good fit but i’m really open to anything so I hope I get a couple strong ideas!
Thanks
