Allow me to start off by saying this is an option at this point in time. Verifying your account is NOT required. However, it is much appreciated if done. Doing so will bring down the likelihood of your posts being removed and account banned tremendously. It will also help us moderators weed through what is being posted. Verified accounts will also have a higher likelihood of posts being pinned.

Verified users will have a “Verified Grand Rapidian” flair added to their account, which will show in posts and comments. The flair will also be added to posts to show in the preview. However, the post flair may not be added immediately after posting as it needs to be done manually by a mod.

Those who do not live in GR, but frequently visit, will be considered pending review of the account.

As of now, I am offering 2 different avenues to verify. If that changes, the post will be edited.

1) Post your verification to r/grandrapidsgonewild

2) Message your verification to me directly.

Your verification post MUST include you in the photo or video with a crumpled piece of paper that has the following written on it in black marker:

• r/grandrapidsgonewild
• your username
• current date
• a mitten with a dot on GR

General verifications posts that are not geolocation specific to GR will not count. Example being a posted pinned to your profile that only has your username and date.

Again, this is totally optional. A large majority of users have been wanting some sort of verification of those posting. Do with this as you see fit.
