Post Body

has anyone ever purchased a car from good motors? specifically the allendale location but the GR one is fine too.

we (21F & 23M) bought a 2016 volvo xc90 from the allendale location in late september. test drove it for most the day, seemed like it was in great shape. about 2 weeks after getting it, the oil light came on. so i thought, no big deal weā€™ll get an oil change (maybe they forgot to change it before selling it, who knows, it happens). went to get an oil change and the guys said the oil was completely black. so we thought huh thatā€™s kinda weird, but again, maybe they just forgot to change it when getting it from whoever had it, whatever. a day or two after getting an oil change another light came on with the oil change light that said ā€œlow engine pressure.ā€ hereā€™s where i got nervous. my uncle has the same car and the same thing happened to him and they ended up having to replace the whole engine. so we texted the dealer from GM to tell him and he said it probably needs to be reset after getting an oil change, so we were like ok great. well, 2 weeks later and the light was still on and as i was driving home one day, the car totally stalled out while im at a light. acted like the battery died and it wouldnā€™t turn on. so we had it towed to the nearest shop to have them look at it and they said it needs an engine replacement. so now im pissed. weā€™ve had this car for barely a month and it needs an engine replacement. i call GM and tell them whatā€™s going on and tell them that iā€™m pretty pissed about it. they say to have it towed to their shop and have their guy look at it and theyā€™ll see what can be done. so we tow it there, he looks at it. says it was a starter and they fix it and GM asks that we just pay half of it, so weā€™re like ok great can do by the end of the month. so then they tell us to come back in 1k miles to make sure everything is still good and they can just double check everything. last week, iā€™m driving less than a mile from my house and all of a sudden the engine is flashing and it says reduced engine speed. so i make it back home and iā€™m fuming. obviously this is an engine problem and i feel like they totally screwed us over. we called GM to tell them and had the car towed to their mechanic. itā€™s now been a week and i havenā€™t heard a single thing about our car. iā€™m furious. but wondering if anyone has had any negative experiences with them also wondering what can be done. itā€™s clearly going to need an engine replacement which means the car is basically totaled and weā€™re stuck still paying for the loan and have zero cars now. (we bought the car for $18k, engine replacement is $16k)
