Has anyone driving to the Grand Canyon during the dark?

I want to arrive to the Grand Canyon 1-2 hours before sunrise . It’s been a dream of mine to just sit down and wait for the sunrise. I am worried about the drive since it will be completely dark . I know a huge issue is wild life collisions and I want to drive at a slow rate in order to give me time to react to wild life . Has anyone here been able to drive in the dark to the canyon safely ? Any tips/advice would be appreciated
