Use of "borrow" to mean "lend"
Post Body

I was watching a rerun of Judge Judy today and the judge corrected a plaintiff who said something like "I borrowed him some money", telling her that she should have said "lent". This is actually a fairly common error that people on Judge Judy make (and she always corrects them). I have heard people say it in my own day-to-day life as well, but not often.

I'm just wondering, is this use of "borrow" completely incorrect? Or, given that it is a common-enough error, could this be considered some kind of evolution of the meaning of that word, where "borrow" can take on the meaning of "lend"?
