Is updating your SOP after the deadline a red flag?

I applied for a PhD in political science to Yale on the 15th of december. The University offer the possibility to update your documents after the deadline. Only the most recent will be considered by the faculty.

I already have updated my Writing Sample on the 16th of december (to correct some typos that had escaped my vigilance).

Now, I am tempted to also update my Statement of Purpose to add some informations about the books from a faculty member that interest me.

Should I do so, or updating my SOP after the deadline will appear as a red flag to the selection comitte ?
