I had a somewhat disjointed undergraduate experience. I double majored in Materials Engineering and Environmental Studies and ended up spreading myself thin between both. I am applying to Master's of Landscape Architecture programs.
I was never passionate about the engineering program so I didn't engage in research more than was absolutely necessary. My senior thesis was all the research I did. During that year the thesis project and its team changed so much that the end result was underwhelming at best. I had to get that thing done just to graduate. I got to know the advisor for the project well enough, but we never really clicked. Now that it was been a few years I do not feel comfortable having him write for me at all.
I met some professors who I loved in the environmental studies program, but my time was largely consumed with the engineering degree. The environmental program was also quite large, so I only had 1-2 classes with the same professor. All this to say I didn't get particularly close to professors in either program.
What do you guys think I should do for an academic reference in this situation?
