Tips on writing my statement of purpose?

Every school I’m applying to has the typical description on the program website but other than that I’m kinda lost on where to begin. How do you start the first paragraph? Who do you address it to? Basic stuff like that. I can go into detail about significant life experiences, understanding of the field, occupational goals, why this school etc. easily, but the basics are confusing me as I haven’t written one before. Thanks!
