Psych Grad Program - Where Is It Really Worth It?

Post Body

Hey! I'm a 4th-year B.A. Psych (Hons) kid from India. I'm looking to do a Master's in Clinical Psych somewhere abroad. My current list includes (in no order of priority except that I'm not v keen about going to the US)-

  • King's College London
  • UCL, London
  • Uni of Edinburgh
  • Uni of Southampton
  • Uni of Manchester
  • NYU
  • Rutgers
  • SJSU
  • University of Pittsburgh
  • Penn State University

The only reason I'm looking at these is because my GPA is quite good (about 3.7 in US terms; and above 80% in UK terms, but most of them are hella expensive w/o scholarships.

Any advice on what the best choice would be? I'm not looking to do a PhD right after, but I want to gain practical experience and eventually get my license as a practicing clinical psychologist. I've gone through their curriculums and most of them align with what I want but it all comes down to is it worth all that I have to spend on it? Or am I better off getting a degree from elsewhere?

Comments

I attended Penn State for undergrad, and will unfortunately not be returning back for my masters. Their program doesnโ€™t allow you clinical practice, as it mainly focuses on research. So if you want to go into practice, that program is likely not the right one for you.
