Hey guys, So im still waiting on my win to ship on January 10th so I can't test it myself but I had an idea to possibly increase performance when using steam and playing pc games, ok so I have built a few HTPC/mame consoles before and there is a program called instant sheller that is used to make windows boot directly into what you tell it too and not boot explorer.exe (aka the windows desktop ) at all , this can be done per windows profile, so my idea is to have 2 user profiles for windows, one booting to desktop like normal and another shelled to boot directly into steam, I believe that this would free up rescorces to use instead for games but I obviously cannot test this theory yet, would anyone like to give it a go and post results?
Its easily removable and you can still get to the desktop by exiting the shelled program eg steam and then cnt-alt-delete and open task manager, click new task-run and type explorer.exe
Also on an unrelated note, what are the best settings for Dolphin on the win? Any tips and tricks you can recommend?
Thanks guys!
