Noob, here. Does GW mean you have to book your return on the same day as your departure unless you want to get stuck?

Curious about what the likelihood is of having to pay out of pocket because a return flight isnāt available.
Isnāt the only fool proof way to get a āguaranteedā ticket back within 48 hours on an overnight trip to book your return for the same day?
I feel Iāve bitten off more than I can chew, here - but Iām up for the challenge!
