I have seen/heard a bit of discourse about the sexual objectification of goth women and it seems to be a very pertinent issue to the subculture. Angela Benedict's video on the topic seems very informative. I am curious to know whether you have any recommendations for articles, blogs, vlogs and rants by people about gender and sexuality in the goth community in relation to objectification of women/femmes by non-goths? Curious to know more takes on patriarchy, heterosexuality, non-monogamy, queerness, consent and sex positivity in relation to the goth subculture.
As a cis hetero man, I find the goth look on women very sexually attractive while believing ardently that there ought to be a way to express one's sexuality without being creepy and invasive.
I am a musician who is into a lot of genres of music and have some admiration for goth rock (I listen to Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Siouxie & the Banshees, Mephisto Waltz and Virgin Prunes).
