How to scrape YouTube view count for a data sheet?

Hi all,
I'm attemping to import/scrape a YouTube viewcount into a sheet, just for tracking purposes. I am aware that I can export channel analytics into a sheet, however that method doesn't quite fit my needs.
I am currently using "=IMPORTXML("X","//div[@class='watch-view-count']") as a function, wherein X is the URL of the video I am trying to get the viewcount from. However, this is returning an "Imported content is empty error".
Any ideas?
