Capacity calculations (impact of linear tasks and bottle necks)

Post Body

Context: I am currently planning the delivery of some products. But need to calculate the total number that can be produced but don't really know how to line up and express in a formula the impact of steps being linear and the impact of bottle necks.

As a result I can calculate the maximum out put of any individual production step. And use the lowest number.

But is there a way to calculate a single more accurate number for capacity?

The doozy here is bottle necks. i.e. There may be free resource available for step 3 but until steps 1 and 2 are done. Step 3 can't begin.

The variable I have are:

- Production steps and order
- resource required for each step
- Number of people per resource
- Total time available

Got a spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rWqshtSmkk0ddxzVGbVxc9MAxb58JoPAoV063qCH2Ec/edit#gid=2100307022
