I'll try to rephrase it better: I like the features of Google Photos, I just don't understand why do I have to upload my photo library in order to use it. I don't need cloud storage, I have enough backup copies stored locally on hdd and ssd. I might use a very small sized cloud syncing space to sync automatically my phone camera pictures with my library, but that's all. I want a good photo organizing app with AI capabilities that works locally on my PC. Is there one at all? Can anyone give me some hints? Or is the cloud storage inherently part of the business of these software companies?
