Presence sensing updates even though I don't have it set up

Whenever I leave the house or come home I get a notification that Google is updating based on its presence sensing, however I actually have presence sensing not activated for my phone when I go into the home or away routines section.
Is there a way to stop it from doing this update each time I leave? More a distraction to me than a problem but would like to get it to stop.
