So I've had my Google Home for about a year and a half now, and it's worked pretty much fine for the entirety of its time in my home. In my room, I have some LIFX lights that are connected to it, one of them named "Lamp" and the other named "Desklamp" (creative, I know). In order to turn them on and off, I have always used the same phrases:
"Hey google, turn on the lamp/desklamp."
"Hey google, turn off the lamp/desklamp."
Alternatively, if I want them both on, I can just say "turn on/off the lights." However, in the past week, I have had an issue in which the specific phrase "Turn on/off the desklamp" is met with Google saying "sorry, I don't understand". I even tried setting the specific phrase as a routine in my Home settings on the app, no dice.
The thing that gets me is that when I say "turn on the lamp" or "turn on the lights." It works, no problem whatsoever. And when I use alternative phrases such as "make the desklamp go on" or even a more ridiculous routine I tested, "ooga booga desklamp on" the desklamp turns on just fine. Does anyone have any experience with a certain phrase just being completely lost? Because although it's obviously not a major issue, after using the same voice command for over a year, the habit sort of sticks.
