Can anyone explain how to connect a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router like i'm dumb.

I have no networking experience whatsoever, but the router included in the fiber box is unbearable. My room is about 35 feet from the router and it can't stream stable video. I have a Nighthawk R7000 router just collecting dust but I can't find a clear explanation on how to connect it. Some people say you can use it without the network box, some say you cant. For the love of all that is good please help me or i'm gonna throw the network box in the creek behind my apartment.
