Hello all,

Starting off with the albums first:

Redwing Blacksmith Album

RDTSTAN Album

You can find my previous post from a few years back here: original redwing review

Now to start off, I’ve been wearing these redwings exclusively for about 3 years now. They are a size 10.5. Now, I recently got my feet measured and they came out to about an 11EE. I never realized I had wide feet. And these have been comfortable out of the box. As reference, I have a pair of Iron rangers in the same size, and those have always been a bit snug on the widest part of the boot. So I’d recommend you take your normal brannock size on IRs if you have wide feet.

I have gotten them resoled once, and re heeled 3 times. I’ve cleaned and conditioned them about 6 times, twice a year. I’ve got to say they have been my favorite shoe/boot I’ve ever owned. The leather was soft and supple out the box. And the leather has only gotten better with age. I would recommend these to anyone as their first boot. As you can see, the tea core came out pretty quick on the toe and heel areas of the boot, but after 3 years, most of the boot has shown its lovely brown on stress areas. I love this pair, and they will be in my rotation for years to come.

Now, moving on to my new pair. The STAN boot by rolling dub trio. These are my first made in Japan boots. I decided to go with them because of all the subtle and lovely details. The leather is an oil black, also a tea core. I’m constantly scuffing my boots and don’t want to fix what’s not broken. I had some sizing worries on these guys before I ordered. Everywhere I read said they rub large. Like extra large. I was told to size down 2 sizes from some, others said half a size. But the guys over at TEMPO designs in SF had me go with a size 11 due to my wide feet, and chup sock addiction. When I finally got them in, they looked big. And trying them on I found they were on the longer side. But in terms of width, they are perfect. They fit even better with my thicker socks. Which I normally wear anyway.

Yesterday was the first full day of wear on these guys. I’ve got to say, I had no issues. No break in pains as of yet. I’m excited to see where these guys take me. It feels like the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Please ask any questions if you have them! Thanks for reading.
