For some reason, I wasn't expecting this and it really changes my...not expectations per se, but what I thought was coming. In a good way! I'm really stoked to see how that time gap affects the story.

Also, I joked to my friend WAY back in the day that instead of going the whole traditional "will they or won't they" route, wouldn't it be funny if Neil messed with us and just skipped right over all that and S2 opened with either one of them just walking in with groceries or something, going "hi sweetheart, how was your day?" *SMOOCH* and we find out that they hooked up off camera between seasons?

Suddenly this joke is looking to be far more possible than I intended!

Anyone else pleasantly surprised by this news? I figured a bit of time had passed between seasons, but I was thinking maybe a few months, not several years.
