I was supposed to go on a cheap 3 day holiday with a friend to mark the end of a very stressful period before starting something new and stressful. She pulled out as it turns out she couldn't afford to go and knew for a while. I then asked another friend who said they wanted to come if my other friend couldn't, turns out that was a lie, because they wanted to go in a few months, not now, and left that out because they didn't want to disappoint me. Afterwards I was totally shattered, not wanting to go away by myself and bot wanting to waste my small chance for a break.

Then I get a call from my other friend, she's staying at her dads apartment in a beach town while he's away to decompress and offered me to come up for a couple days. I took her up on it and I am so glad I did. 3 days in a apartment overlooking the water, walking all around the beaches and mountains, going out and having good food and spending time having a few drinks and chilling out with a funny movie has made me feel like a totally different person.

I know it's only temporary, but I havent felt this great in a long time. It's nice to feel like a normal person again. 😊🥰
