Verification

What is verification?

"Verification" is the process of proving that you are who you say you are. At this time, verification is optional. However, Moderators always reserve the right to require a user to verify. In this case, you will be required to verify and may be muted and/or banned until you do so.

How do I get verified?

There are 2 ways to verify on r/gonewildstories:

Audio Verification:

1. Create an audio recording of yourself, stating your exact Reddit user name, a mention of r/gonewildstories or Reddit, and the current date (Month/Day/Year)
2. Example: Hello gonewildstories, this is the verification for user Throwaway2019, and today is April 27th, 2019
3. Upload the recording to Soundgasm
4. PM the Moderators with the link of your Soundgasm recording, with the Subject: Verification for (your Reddit name). Once you post, do not delete it. It will be checked periodically.

Picture Verification:

1. Upload an album to Imgur that contains at least 3 different color pictures of you holding a handwritten paper sign.
2. Use blue or black link to write the following on your sign: your exact Reddit user name, a mention of r/gonewildstories, and the current date.
3. The pictures should be taken at 3 different angles (not just straight on), with a decent image quality/resolution. Do not use any filters or photo manipulation tools. You must show the majority of your body, but you do not need to show your face.
4. PM the Moderators with the link of your Imgur album, with the Subject: Verification for (your Reddit name). Once you post, do not delete it. It will be checked periodically. Do not make a verification post in the subreddit. PM mod team only.

Verification may take up to 24 hours. 'throwaway' accounts can not post within 24 hours anyway to eliminate spam."

If you think we missed yours, please do not hesitate to follow up with the Moderators.

Verification can be revoked if you delete your verification post or if the Moderators believe your verification is not authentic.

What does verification get me?

Once verified, you will receive a Verified Flair that you can use within the community. This will show that you've put some effort and energy proving your authenticity.
