You are soldier within the ranks of the kingâs army. Currently you are fighting against The Wolves of the Ancient Wood. You do not know why you are fighting against them; you are simply told to do so and itâs implied that refusal most likely means death. You, along with the rest of your fellow soldiers, are not equipped to fight this battle. The winter cold chills you to the bone, those who wear plate armor have to keep moving lest their armor freezes together, and at least half of the people near you are sick.
Your enemy, The Wolves, are a tribe of beasts in the shape of humans, like wolves their skin is covered in fur making them perfectly able to survive the harsh winter. They are brutal, capable of defending themselves without a weapon using their claws and fangs to rend and tear flesh. Among their numbers there is one that stands out, their name is not known to the kingâs army but tales past along shattered soldiers tell of a white beast with red eyes. Ferocious, unstoppable, and thirsty for blood. Dozens have vanished without a trace and those who were found had wounds that would make even the most hardened soldiers grimace. Thatâs why when you heard âred eyesâ from the soldier in front of you everyone quickly sprung into action.
It was an ambush, you heard hollowing from the wolves. Your fellow soldiers attacked first but it was all for not, with one blow three men were toppled and their attackers stepped over them and approached the remaining soldiers. What could you do against such powerful beasts? If you fought you would die. You didnât want to die for a skirmish you knew nothing about. So, you did the first thing you thought of, you ran.
You ran and ran and ran. Your lungs burned with the freezing air, but you kept running until your legs gave out and you realized that the snow had started to pick up. You didnât know that if you were just tired or if the air had suddenly gotten colder and you began to wonder if it would have been better to die fighting than freezing to death. You head footsteps and do your best to turn. Your eyes were unable to make out anything, the cold causing them to practically freeze over making everything a fuzzy mess. But the one thing you saw that caused a sensation worse than the cold to build up was the glow of red in the distance, glowing red eyes watching you. Thatâs when you lost consciousness.
Character explanation: There arenât a lot of audios or scripts relating to furry characters so I thought it would be nice to make one. The species here is a species loosely based off of the wolf character featured here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CatkingsAbyss/comments/muue0c/short_story_the_wolfs_hunter/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 this one in particular is an anthropomorphic wolf women. Iâm not sure how this kind of content is received here so I suggest that if you donât like furry content just skip over this one.
