It's May! Which means part 5 of the Journey Through 22 (!!) This one is set in the same universe as part 4 (which can be found at the link near the bottom) so there's some reference, but nothing pivotal to this story. This one is quite long, at nearly 3000 words, but I had a ton of fun writing it. So I hope you enjoy!

Let's set the stage: Another day, another visit from a very common customer. He comes by at least once a week, here to your tiny little self-owned shop. It seems like there’s always someone’s birthday, a work event, or a celebration of something going on in his life. Your bright personality lights up his day as much as he lights up yours. But you’ve never told him that your favorite part of any day is seeing him. That is, until he reveals that today the person he’s shopping for... is you. Once it dawns on you that you both have it in for each other, you close up your shop and run upstairs to the apartment unit above your store. (The very same unit you’ve offered to your little sister in the past.) You decide to start with a bit of wine. Only wanting to chat. But you’re both impatient, now knowing the truth, and find yourselves indulging in one another.

You’re literally the highlight of any day when you stop in!
