The Gorgon

It’s a peaceful evening on your island of Sarpedon. Well, as peaceful as it can be considering the warning your serpentine companions hissed in your ear of a dilapidated boat on the shoreline. Great. Another pompous demigod pissing themselves at the notion of claiming the trophy that is your head. Much like the majority of your garden decor.

Not wanting to be caught unaware, you slither on towards the source of your trouble— only to meet the wide eyes of a drenched, trembling traveler. You wait for their movements to slowly cease entirely, the smooth gray stone to overtake their features… but nothing. Shock turns to realization as their gaze moves past you, unseeing and unsteady. Well, this is a first.

The Traveler

It’s a peaceful evening in your tiny, fishing village. Well, as peaceful as it can be considering the entire village cast you out after a lifetime of making you a scapegoat for all their troubles. Stewing with resentment, you steal a boat and sail for a neighboring island. Anywhere’s better than home.

A storm promptly blows you off course and into the rocky shores of Sarpedon. You’re no fool. You’ve heard countless stories of the wretched monster inhabiting it, so you scramble to patch up your boat to sail away. But you are so cold, so weary, so miserable… surely, it wouldn’t hurt if you wait for the storm to pass, would it?

I had Hesiod’s version of Medusa in mind when writing this so she was originally a gorgon born to Ceto and Phorcys, along with her sisters, Stheno and Euryale. She was never a beautiful priestess seduced by Poseidon and cursed by Athena, unlike Ovid’s more popular account. Don’t ask me where her sisters are though. They’re conveniently absent to help their mortal sister get laid.

Also, this is a 1000x romanticized version of Medusa (obviously) so she’s a misunderstood villain just waiting to be loved. Aren’t we all?

She talks to her hair snakes and is quite indifferent and mocking towards the listener at first and reluctantly becomes softer towards them as she gets more comfortable around them. This also has 3 time skips because it covers like 2 weeks of their relationship. I was tempted to make this a fuck-at-first-sight script but decided against it because I was in the mood to write something wholesome after my last one.
