The character
It’s been nearly a year since you last heard from your ex-boyfriend, after a breakup he initiated. It’s been rough at first but you’ve long since moved on. Sure, there’s some lingering resentment but all in all, you know you’re much happier with him out of your life.
Cue a series of emails (because you blocked him on everything else, obviously) from said ex. He begs and begs and begs for you to take him back, that he’s oh-so-sorry about everything, and how he can be better for you.
You reluctantly give him another chance, despite your common sense telling you otherwise. You think it wasn’t a bad decision until he had the audacity to demand basic decency and affection from you. Seriously, who does he think he is?

The listener

Despite your common sense telling you otherwise, you can’t help but obsess over pine for her day and night. So when she agrees to give you a second chance, you’re eager to please and show her how much better you are now; but it seems like she doesn’t share the same enthusiasm.
