No, I'm not behind you. I'm beside you. Well, beside your reality at least. Your brain suggests the term "alternate universe".

Sorry. I latched onto your mind somehow as I became trapped between worlds. It's so hard to travel between universes. Mass is so difficult to transfer. That's why I travel as just a seed, with all the memories of my parent.

Of course I said seed. What else would- ohh... You're an animal. An animal became the dominant species on your world? That is unexpected. And troubling, not just philosophically, but also for my arrival purposes.

I am a... Well, what your brain would classify as a plant. But far more evolved than what your world is used to. We're not too different in general shape and appearance. But my kind reproduces by releasing our seeds into the winds between worlds. Normally, I would ask for permission to graft myself onto a host plant being in a new universe, and then regrow that way. That won't work here.

And my time is running out. I never considered that it was a meat-thing I was in contact with. Now I am too far committed to the transfer.

I need your help. And your DNA...

I wrote and first posted this several years back. It started as a bit of a joke based off of an idea had while vanilla sex was being discussed. A similar discussion currently reminded me of this script. It's from a time when I wrote much more succinctly, so by my current standards it is pretty short. It also ended up more serious than my original intent, being more of a science fiction story than humor. Or at least that's how a view it, but maybe someone else reads it and sees it as the silly story I was originally planning to write.

This was recorded once, many years ago, and done so very well, although I don't think the audio exists any more. If anyone wishes to record it again, please feel free to make whatever changes you like. And as always, thanks for reading.
