* I welcome all feedback. In fact, I challenge you. Come at me bro.
What happens when a sassy sarcastic pseudo-tsundere Celt (say that three times fast) falls in love, gets knocked up, delivers the blessed miracle, and has to deal with all the postnatal hormones, stress, and a husband who still finds her irresistible?
My first finished script. Inspired by St. Patrick’s Day, and posted for a belated Cinco de Mayo. A comedic romance idea I had about a postnatal couple finding intimacy again with strong focus on comedy and sickeningly sweet love. I find myself to keep writing female characters that are assertive, sarcastic, funny and can handle both sides of a conversation with ease, and this is no exception. If you like that sort of thing, I’ve got more in development with this couple, and also feisty molecular biologists, spirited witches, frisky cat-women, Hawksian veterinarians, or other Manic Pixies that may or may not be preggo, as the kids say.
I’ve split into two scripts, one for a character born in Ireland, the other international (maybe American is more accurate). They have minor differences (like “secondary school” instead of “high school”, “fanny” to be in the front instead of the back).
***I want to emphasize I never intended to limit the script to Irish, Irish-Americans or even native English speakers, but for anyone willing to portray a character with some portion Irish heritage, no matter the actor's country of origin.
PS. As someone about as Irish as schnitzel and lederhosen, I’m sure I’ve made a few mistakes in the speech in the Irish Born version. I’ve head cannoned that the protagonist is living in America and adopted some Americanisms, but if anyone has more knowledgeable and has some corrections or suggestions, I will pack your sweet pink mouth with so much ice cream you'll be the envy of every Jerry and Jane on the block, as they say.
