Crumbling is not an instant’s Act -
A fundamental pause
--Emily Dickinson
Here’s a novel concept: an erotic audio that isn’t actually that erotic. Just wait! Hear me out!
The past year has fucked up a lot of people’s mental well-being. This effect has been compounded by our social and sex lives being completely stunted. In this script, we have a Narrator who’s been hit particularly hard. The existential dread is creeping in, and masturbation is their main coping--or maybe avoidance--mechanism.
The Narrator narrates one of their days. They feel nothing and everything; they want to die and are grateful to be alive; the world is too fucking immense and no bigger than an apartment. Which is to say, it’s just another day being unemployed during quarantine.
In this script, the Narrator is speaking directly to the listener. But we also hear the sounds of each scene being played out. These should be loud enough for the listener to know what’s going on, but they shouldn’t drown out the narration.
The Narrator is depressed and introspective. Your delivery should reflect this. Take your time and feel the weight of each word, just as the Narrator deeply feels each sentiment those words convey.
If you want to make changes that you feel suit the script, feel free to do so. If you have any questions or comments, PM me.
