So, I had a couple of scripts that had been reserved for someone since forever, but the potential performers decided to temporarily retire, so I will be posting them as regular script offers and maybe someone likes them.
THE SUMMARY:
Versailles, 1780s. You have just lost everything in a game of Pharaoh. The Count of St. Germain, who is head over heels in lust with you, knows the secret card combination that is sure to win, and is willing to give it up. At a price. As the last resort you go to his house at night…
ACTING SUGGESTIONS AND STUFF:
The speaker character, the Count of St.Germain, is supposed to be an Italian, although his background is obscure, so I’m not sure what accent would work better here. Ultimately it doesn’t matter but could be a nice touch. :-)
Acting is important; be kind to sound as pompous and condescending as possible in the beginning, reserving all the passion for the finale.
THE BORING STUFF:
The summary is all that you need to know. :-) Further reading isn’t necessary, but it will help to make sense of minor details here and there, so, if you are curious, here’s the link to the Wikipedia entry on my source material: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queen_of_Spades_(opera), which is based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queen_of_Spades_(story). Pushkin’s St.Germain sounds more like a generous grandpa, while the opera one is in fact the dashing evil gentleman I had in mind. :D
Opera enthusiasts can also check out the aria telling the St.Germain anecdote, sung by Khvorostovsky (EwnMhjK4lzU at the most popular video hosting site, ‘Tomsky Ballad’ in concert; no direct link, because those are not allowed at GWA, and, apparently, just mentioning that video hosting site gets your post automatically removed, LOL);
The script contains historically accurate [Cheating] motive (as in the listener is married, with children), but it can be easily edited, no biggie, because the listener can be anyone; just leave that one mention of the children out; the problematic sentences are marked like this: {[CHEATING]}{/[CHEATING]}. The script also contains a couple of French words and one Russian word (which the speaker is not supposed to pronounce correctly anyway, so that won't be a problem). :D
I did two versions of the script, a longer one (~2 700 words) and a shorter one (~1 700 words). I welcome changes and improvisation (especially in the sex part), as long as the spirit is kept. :-)
